Travel & Costs

The hotel costs are fully covered by Sonic during the SDM. If you wish to stay longer, you will be responsible for your private booking and any additional costs. Room rate including breakfast and 8% VAT is EUR 390,- for a single and EUR 415,- for a double room, plus 2% accommodation tax. The costs of travel are not included. Please organize your travel to arrive at the Instanbul airport on time.  You will need to organize your own taxi or rental car to the hotel yourself.

Cancellation Policy for the Hotel

The reservation is made on a guaranteed basis. A cancellation free of charge is no longer possible. Please be advised that we reserve the right to charge a cancellation fee of 90% of your stay in case of cancellation or non-arrival.

How to get from the airport to the hotel

Your travel costs to Istanbul and transfer to and from the airport to the Swissôtel are not covered by Sonic. Please organize your trip to arrive in time for the welcome reception.

The New Istanbul Airport [IST] is located on the European side of Istanbul, in the Arnavutköy district, north of the modern city of Istanbul. It is about 40 km away from Taksim and 52 km from both Sultanahmet (historical center in the European side of Istanbul) and Kadıköy (city center in the asian side of town). 

It was officially opened on 29th October 2018 as the third international airport constructed in Istanbul but is now considered being the main one. In fact, Istanbul Airport ranked second in the "World's Best Airports" by the famous traveling and lifestyle magazine Condé Nast Traveler. 

It replaced the previous Atatürk Airport that was also located in the European side of Istanbul, but that is closed now. Today, most of the important flight connections, layovers, departures and arrivals are made through this airport.

Dress code

As always “Business Casual” for the conference days. You do not need anything very special besides a dinner jacket and a nice dress for the last evening.

For the social event programme we highly recommend you take some sneakers, jeans, t-shirt with pullover or light jacket and sunglasses with you.
